We expect faculty to develop an extramurally funded research program and lead national and international initiatives at disciplinary intersections.

The successful candidate will be in a position to help shape the development of the African Studies program and help build a dual title graduate degree program in African Studies and Geography. We are particularly interested in scholars whose research can align with other health-related initiatives on campus. These initiatives include the Pan University Network of Global Health , the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics , the Population Research Institute , and faculty in the department of Biobehavioral Health and the College of Medicine . We seek candidates who adhere to Penn State’s tripartite mission of teaching, research and service.

Geography of global change is the Department of Geography’s theme for four new hires, including this search.
