Professor (Associate or Full) in Public Science, Communication

As part of the Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program, NC State University seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor in Communication to provide key leadership in the Leadership and Public Science Cluster  (http://ift.tt/1abcHRP). The Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program is bringing some of the best and brightest minds to join NC State University’s interdisciplinary efforts to solve some of the globe’s most significant problems. The aims of the cluster are to conduct research that directly engages the public in citizen science research and to study the success of public participation in science, particularly in educational settings. We seek a collaborative social scientist and/or humanities scholar with a demonstrated record of scholarship and practice in the communication of science and technology, including areas such as health and well-being, environmental policy, public understanding of science, and the communication of science to diverse communities. For more information or to apply use this link http://ift.tt/1oDvHsx, in the Keyword Search box enter 00105094

The Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program is bringing the best and brightest minds to join NC State University’s interdisciplinary efforts to solve some of the globe’s most significant problems. The aims of the cluster are to conduct research that directly engages the public in science. For this position we seek a scientist or social scientist with good communication skills who can connect with non-technical audiences by working with citizen scientists and/or by involving new audiences in natural resource topics including forestry, wildlife, conservation, natural resource ecology, environmental policy, and geospatial analytics.
