Three fully funded PhD positions are available with the Regional Climate
Modeling Group at the University of Quebec at Montreal in the area of land
surface modeling and land-climate interactions. The three projects will
focus on improving the representation of snow and glaciers, biosphere and
in-land water bodies, respectively, in the fifth generation of the
Canadian Regional Climate Model and will study land-climate interactions
for the high-latitude regions using carefully designed regional climate
model experiments and available observations. These PhD positions are
integrated within the Canadian Network for Regional Climate and Weather
Processes (cnrcwp.uqam.ca), with a focus on improving climate projections
and weather predictions for the Arctic region.
Successful applicants will have an MSc in Atmospheric Sciences or related
disciplines. Good programming skills in Fortran, C/C++, Matlab/R,
familiarity with UNIX environment and shell scripting and excellent
written and oral communication skills in French and English will be
definite assets. Interested applicants should send their CV, copies of
