Canada Research Chair Tier 2 – Life and the Environmenthttp://www.geog.uvic.ca/dept/cag/jobs.htm#L1147Algoma University is seeking candidates for a Tier 2 Canada
Research Chair who will enhance, strengthen, and diversify our
research efforts within the Life and the Environment research
cluster. The ideal candidate will be recognized by his/her peers
as an emerging scholar with the potential to lead in his/her field
of research. The candidate will be able to work collaboratively
with colleagues to continue the advancement of our knowledge of
life and the environment working in newly dedicated faculty
laboratories. As the program of research is multi-disciplinary in
nature, it is anticipated that candidates will emerge from a
variety of discipline areas within the environmental sciences.
Applicants for this position should possess a PhD (or equivalent),
have a superior research profile in the proposed area, demonstrate
the ability to obtain external funding, and demonstrate potential
to emerge as an internationally recognized scholar. Teaching
duties consist of two (3 credit hours each) semester-length
courses per academic year. Evidence of a strong teaching record is
highly valued.

Applications will be reviewed starting December 15, 2015 and will
continue to be accepted until a nominee is chosen. Ideally, the
nominee will submit a full application package to the CRC program
in April 2016. Start date to be negotiated.
Application packages, which should include a letter of intent,
curriculum vitae, statement of research achievements and future
objectives, evidence of teaching effectiveness and the names and
contact information of at least three referees, must be sent by
