***Postdoctoral researcher (Advanced Characterization of Urban Aerosol Emissions) at TUT, Finland***
The position will be placed in the Aerosol Physics Laboratory at the Department of Physics. The strategic aim of Laboratory is to study anthropogenic emissions in a wider context including atmospheric relevance and fate. In line with this, the Laboratory has established a mobile measurement unit and novel emission characterization methods such as HToF-CIMS, PAM chambers and PSM.
The goal is to apply advanced mass spectrometric techniques (specifically, an Aerodyne HToF-CIMS) to secondary aerosol emissions of traffic and energy production, including the effect of alternative fuels and biofuels. This involves detailed, multidisciplinary studies in aerosol process chemistry and phase transitions between the liquid and gas phases in an urban setting. The Postdoctoral Researcher will participate in local and international measurement campaigns studying emission from engines, power production and traffic as well as urban aerosol and air quality.
