Postdoctoral research position in aerosol remote sensing at the University of Brussels (ULB, Belgium).
The Atmospheric Spectroscopy group at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (http://www.ulb.ac.be/cpm/atmosphere.html) specializes in satellite remote sensing of the Earth and its atmosphere, especially using the IASI hyperspectral infrared sounder. We currently have a vacancy for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the development and expansion of retrieval algorithms for airborne volcanic ash and windblown dust from IASI.
Candidates should have a PhD in an exact science (preferable atmospheric science, physics, chemistry or related fields). A broad programming experience is a must. Experience in the field of satellite remote sensing is desirable, but not mandatory. The position is available immediately (to start on or before September 2016) and foreseen for two or three years, subject to a yearly renewal. Legal conditions for this grant require (i) the candidate not being in Belgium for work or residence for more than 24 months the last three years before recruitment and (ii) not having their PhD for more than 8 years before recruitment.
Applicants should send a CV (including publication list) and cover letter to Lieven Clarisse (firstname.lastname@example.org) whom can also be contacted for any queries regarding this position.
