Otak is looking to hire a Sr.
Geomorphologist to join our Water and Natural Resources team. This
position can be located in either our Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA office.
The Sr. Geomorphologist/Project Manager will lead various aquatic
restoration projects such as stream restoration, estuary restoration,
floodplain management, habitat enhancement, and watershed studies. The description is at the following link:
Lead, support and/or participate in
business development efforts such as proposal preparation and interviews,
maintaining client relations and other activities associated with business
Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, as
well as sediment transport modeling.
Provide expertise with geomorphic
analysis, field work and assessments. This may include channel
migration analysis, bank stability modeling, hydrologic monitoring,
sediment sampling and other related analysis.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize,
manage, and deliver multiple projects with simultaneous deadlines.
Thrive in a multi-disciplinary
team-oriented environment, be able to meet tight deadlines, and work
Ability to travel on occasion between
different Otak offices and to various site locations for project work.
Master’s degree in geology,
geomorphology, hydrology, or related field.
Must have approximately six (6) or more
years of professional working experience of geomorphic analysis and
instream restoration approaches.
Working knowledge of ArcGIS for spatial
analysis or similar software.
Strong desire and aptitude for
participating in business development pursuit efforts. Previous
experience in successful business development pursuits is highly desired.
Ability to work outdoors in adverse
weather conditions and traverse slopes and rough terrain, along rivers,
streams, and shorelines. Be able to work around, in or on water.
