[GilbertClub] Post-Doc in Fluvial Geomorphology at Utah State – Review Date Extended

Hello folks. My apologies for this follow up email and cross postings. There was some confusion around the application deadline for the Post-Doc in Fluvial Geomorphology I previously announced. Due to this confusion, we have extended the review date until September 30th. The position will remain open until filled, but we will begin to review applications on October 1st. So if you were thinking about applying, but were discouraged or confused by the application deadline please apply or get in touch with me. Below is a brief synopsis and more information is available here.

The Fluvial Habitats Center in the Department of Watershed Sciences at Utah State University has an immediate opening for a Post Doctoral Researcher – Fluvial Geomorphologist (Position E1600322 on usu.hiretouch.com). We can hire at post-doc level or post-graduate researcher level for an applicant with right skill set. For the post-doc position we seek a fluvial geomorphologist to become a leading expert on geomorphic units and structural elements as the building blocks of riverscapes and physical habitat for fish. The successful candidate will work throughout the American West, but will be focused on the Columbia River Basin.  The funding for this position is tied to creating more robust fish-habitat relationships for ESA-listed anadromous salmonids and using that understanding to inform population life cycle modelling and restoration scenario testing.  See the job link above for full details on job descriptions if you’re interested in applying.

The successful applicant will join a thriving lab group of 15-20 researchers that is part of a world-class, interdisciplinary Watershed Sciences Department. The jobs are based on the Utah State University campus, in Logan, a small, mountain college town with ample recreational distractions out the back door and up the beautiful Logan Canyon (5 minutes from campus). Utah State University is an equal opportunity employer and we encourage applications from under-represented groups. Please get in touch with me with any questions.

Best Wishes,

Joe

PS – Note that the review date has passed for the technician position that was previously announced.
