Lecturer in Atmospheric Science – The University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia

The
School of Earth Sciences invites applications from outstanding candidates to fill a new continuing teaching and research position in
the area of Atmospheric Science. We are seeking an individual with research
interests and expertise primarily in the areas of meteorology, climate science,
or weather-climate interactions. The appointee will undertake independent
research, supervise research students, and also teach and administer components
of the School’s Climate and Weather undergraduate and graduate programs. This
position is linked to the recently funded ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate
Extremes and the successful candidate would contribute to one of the Centre’s research programs. 

This position will be filled at the Lecturer level (approximately equivalent to Assistant Professor in the U.S. system), which has a full-time salary range of $95,434 – $113,323 (Australian Dollars) plus a 17% employer superannuation contribution.
