Faculty of Science, McGill University, invites applications
for a tenure-track position at the Assistant level in
Geographic Information Science. We seek an individual who has
demonstrated scholarship for teaching and innovative research
in GIScience. Particular strengths in one or more of the
following areas is desirable: ‘big-data’ analysis, geographic
data science, or spatial data visualization. Our preferred
candidate would apply advanced computational approaches to
address spatio-temporal issues pertaining to geographic and/or
environmental science. The individual should complement
existing departmental strengths in physical and human
geography. The Department also has a long-standing tradition
of collaborative work with other units at McGill, including
the Institute for the Study of International Development, the
McGill School of Environment, the Sustainability and Science
and Society Interfaculty Program, and the interdisciplinary
Urban Studies program.

Applicants must possess a PhD in Geography or
an equivalent discipline. The successful applicant will be
expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the
Department of Geography, and develop a vigorous, independent
research program, embracing the supervision of graduate
