The University of Manitoba, Department of Environment and Geography invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in
the broad area of Arctic System Science and Climate Change. Candidates with a Ph.D. with expertise in the areas of glaciology, glacier marine coupling, Arctic climate teleconnections, ice sheet modelling, climate modelling, climatology, meteorology, physical,
chemical or biological oceanography, remote sensing, or related Arctic field of study, are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to play a major role in the various Arctic System Science and climate change projects led by the Centre
for Earth Observation Science at the University of Manitoba, including major new projects focused on freshwater-marine coupling with freshwater sources from glaciers and continental runoff, ocean acidification and carbon exchange processes, physical, biological
or chemical oceanography, Arctic-midlatitude teleconnections, and climate change.
Application reviews will begin January 21, 2019 and will continue until a successful candidate is selected. The expected start date is July 1, 2019.

· a curriculum vitae (including examples of significant research contributions)
· a research statement that documents the candidates plans to develop an internationally
competitive collaborative research program in collaboration with other academics in CEOS and elsewhere.
· a teaching statement that documents the candidate’s experience in and approach
to training and mentoring diverse students and the candidate’s teaching philosophy
· the names and contact information of three referees
