Description
The Mistik Askiwin Dendrochronology Laboratory (MAD Lab) seeks qualified applications for a two-year post-doctoral fellowship (PDF) on a funded Agricultural Greenhouse Gases Program (AGGP) grant. The program is currently researching carbon
sequestration in shelterbelt trees in Saskatchewan from a radial growth, climatological, and economic standpoint. The PDF will be responsible for linking a dynamic team of dendrochronologists, soil scientists, economists, GIS, remote sensers, and computer
programmers to help develop an decision support system to calculate sequestered carbon from various tree species across southern Saskatchewan. Previous experience working with one or more of these diverse groups will be seen as a definitive asset(s).
Qualifications
A PhD is required, ideally in dendrochronology, soil science, or a related discipline. The candidate will have field sampling training in forestry as they will lead the field teams in subsequent summers. A valid class 5 driver’s license
is a necessity. The candidate will have extensive experiences with statistical packages, as well as have excellent communication and writing skills. In addition, she or he will have the ability to work independently and also function effectively in a team

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority. The University of Saskatchewan is committed to the principles of employment equity. The University encourages applications
from qualified Aboriginal people, persons with a disability, racially visible persons and women.
Please note: Post-doctoral fellows on the University of Saskatchewan campus are currently negotiating a unionized contract, and remuneration cannot exceed $50,000 per year in the future, even if wage and benefit ratios are
changed from the time of job posting until the time of a negotiated contract.
