The Urban Environment Observatory (http://bit.ly/2B2Li4B) is a research group that is engaged in a variety of national and international research works ranging from human rights, multiculturalism, land use planning (for instance, annexations and urban sprawl), housing, and planning in Canada’s North, Sri Lanka, India and the United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Sandeep Agrawal, Professor and Director of the School of Urban and Regional Planning, is the head of the Observatory. The group currently consists of postdoctoral fellow and at least three PhD students along with several graduate and undergraduate students from a variety of disciplines.
A recent addition to the list of the projects involves exploration of the existing capacity and best practices for the integration of future energy systems into Canadian cities and First Nations Communities.
