The Geophysical Laboratory seeks a highly-qualified applicant for a Postdoctoral Fellow
position with expertise in geochemistry and data science. The successful candidate
should have deep knowledge of geochemistry and petrology, particularly in the context of
deep-time data-driven discovery (see https://ift.tt/2Fg49L4), as well as
proficiency in numerical modeling, high-performance computing, geospatial analysis,
and machine learning.
The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with
members of the international 4D Initiative team (see http://4d-workshop.net), including
Robert Hazen and Shaunna Morrison at Carnegie, as well as the emerging Deep-Time
Digital Earth (DDE) project being developed in China (see Science, v.363, p.917).
This full-time, 2-year position will commence on or after May 1, 2019, and will be based
at the Geophysical Laboratory at the Carnegie Institution’s Broad Branch Road campus
in Washington, DC.
